CD Release

O Day of Peace, a new album by the Notre Dame Children’s Choir, features anthems and arrangements of the choir’s favorites hymns. The CD charts a pilgrimage of music and poetry that describes God’s all encompassing love and peace. It includes the hymns Love Divine, All Love Excelling; Of the Father’s Love Begotten; Silent Night, and the chorister’s blessing, Bless, O Lord, Us Thy Servants. The collection includes Easter and Christmas melodies as well as the ever rousing Notre Dame, Our Mother.

O Day of Peace debuts two newly commissioned hymns, Brian Schoettler’s While Seeking Refuge From the Storms of Life (winner of the 2016 Notre Dame Children’s Choir Hymn Competition), and Hillary Doerries’ Joyful is the Dark.

The Notre Dame Children’s Choir is led by Artistic Director, Dr. Mark Doerries; Assistant Director, Erin Donegan ’16; Organist and Composer, Hillary Doerries; and features University of Notre Dame alumna and soprano vocalist Samantha Dotterweich ’15.
