Audition
The Organ Training Program teaches lessons to all levels of players ages 5-17, though space in each level is limited. Students at the intermediate and advanced levels are required to have access to an organ on which to practice. The Sacred Music Academy will assist in setting up practice times on local instruments as needed.
Beginner Lesson Auditions
Students with no piano/keyboard experience will begin with introductory piano lessons. Depending on age, lessons last between 20-30 minutes. No audition preparation is necessary.
Intermediate Lesson Auditions
Students with several years of piano background are eligible to begin organ lessons. Auditioning students should bring a short piano piece they have performed or studied privately. Teachers may ask student to play scales in the following major keys: C, D, F, G, A.
Advanced Lesson Auditions
Students with a significant amount of piano lessons or who have already started organ lessons are eligible to study advanced organ technique. Auditioning students should bring a short advanced piano piece or simple organ composition they have performed or studied privately. Teachers may ask student to play scales in the following major keys: C, D, F, G, A, E, B; and minor keys: A, E, B, C.
