Special Programs

In addition to our school-year programs, we sponsor the NDCC Community Festival, NDCC Hymn Competition, and conferences for local, regional, and international church musicians interested in the role children play in sacred music.

Our annual Festival (May) brings together choirs from across the greater Notre Dame region to work under guest directors from the sacred music and music education realms.

The NDCC Hymn Competition seeks new texts and melodies specifically composed with child choristers in mind.

The Notre Dame Children's Choir along with graduate vocalists from Sacred Music at Notre Dame recently staged an outdoor performance of Benjamin Britten's opera Noye's Fludde.

And in 2014, we hosted the international conference, The Chorister and the Church of the Future. The conference explored models for creating more opportunities for children to engage with sacred music and become leaders of the Church.
